About Wyred Slave...

Wyred Slave is run by a life-style couple who have many combined years experience in our chosen world.

Wyred Slave started life when we searched thoroughly but failed to find a collar to suit our needs. We were looking for a locking metal collar that not only didn't cost a mortgage payment, but if it was affordable didn't then fall apart within minutes.

It had to not only look good and be functional as a collar, but also be discrete enough to wear on a daily basis in front of family and friends.

Finally it also had to be kind to skin and not bring out a nasty rash when worn for long periods of time... I usually only have to look at some metals and can react badly!

Obviously we struggled... so we made one of our own.

We realised there must be other people out there looking for the same thing... so we started with the basic criteria: good looking, affordable, wearable designs that have an excellent reputation for being well-made.... and up to the job.

The first collar design to be made was the 4mm Plain Band... which was picked up by one of our (now) regular customers who showed it to a southern lifestyle company called Him n Hers. They liked the product so much they ordered some for their website.

At that point we didn't even have a business name let alone a name for the range despite them already selling on ebay and through word of mouth.

After much discussion and a spark of creativity we decided to call ourselves Wyred Slave. The wyred is two-fold... our original design was using metal rope - or wire - and we live on the Wyre Coast - so here we are

From little acorns... we have sent collars and other pieces all over the world and have expanded from the original plain band to now offer a large range of Wraith designs including thicker-guage collars, collars with different styles of O-Rings, locking belts, leashes and cuffs... plus new ideas are being introduced all the time.

We're small enough that each item is made with care to order... which we feel makes your piece extra special as it's made only for you. As most collars have the importance of a wedding band the attention to detail and personal touch we offer adds to the event in a unique way.

We love what we do and it thrills us to be able to make other people's lives more complete... and we intend to carry on with our unique attention to detail and extensive after sales care.

On a more personal note...

2010 has not been kind to us health-wise. Lorii started out with simple fibromyalgia and diabetes - plus a couple of other glitches ... but is ending it with an extra portion of Multiple Sclerosis, blocked artery and other fun stuff. She's spent a good few weeks in hospital and increased the med box at home to one large to keep a small child in. Trips to the chemist take on the style of a security van with a street value of the bag on the way home ... and she now needs to inject various potions on a daily basis. On the upside she's home and chatting to customers like she's never been away and her organisational skills are back on form meaning Jason can live in the workshop again :)

As if that wasn't enough in the last 6 weeks two of our cats have been killed on the road by speeding drivers. Pepper - who used to walk to the post office with Jason each day - was killed first. Very sad as she wasn't yet two years old. Toby, alias Fetish Kitty - was killed in early December, and that's hit us both very hard. We'll keep his page up for a little while but if you were a fan - and there were surprisingly hundreds who wrote to him - hopefully this will explain where he's gone.

So onwards and upwards :)

Now that Lorii's back Jason can spend more time on new styles, the website will be updated more frequently, new styles are going to be added very soon. Plus everyone will get chattier emails.
